Foster Friday: Elara

Elara was picked up as a stray in Illinois and was on the euthanize list when the Blind Dog Rescue Alliance snatched her up.  She is the cutest little ball of fluff! Don't you just want to kiss her?



Foster Dog’s Name? Elara, named for the 12th moon of Jupiter (rhymes with Tara)
Breed? Pomeranian
Gender? Female
Altered? Yes
Age? 9 years - No one knows for sure because I was a stray!


Potty trained? yes
Crate trained? yes
Cat safe? Do not know – no cats here
Dog friendly? yes
Kid friendly? Do not know – no kids here
Fence jumper? no
Happy as an only dog? Would be happy as an only dog or with other dogs - either way is OK with me!


Any meds? (other than HW & Frontline) no - I am a healthy girl!
Any other quirks? No - I am a sweet, calm and loving dog!
Level of sight? I can see a very limited amount. I have mature, bilateral cataracts



Favorite treat? Peanut butter
Favorite pup food? Anything! I am usually a quiet dog except just before mealtime! Then I like to bark a little bit!
Favorite human food? Peanut butter
Do you like to chew? Sometimes, but not usually
Favorite chewy? A dog toy called “Flea”
Do you like pedicures? no


How do you feel about the couch? I prefer the floor
Do you prefer snuggling or your own giant bed? I like to be close by and sleep at my foster mom’s feet.
Favorite naughty thing to do? ??? I am never naughty!!!
How fast do you zoomie? I like to walk slowly and smell all the smells outside
What’s your opinion on squirrels? I am not interested in squirrels

Opinion on birds? Do they really taste like chicken? I am not interested in birds either



Are you a guard dog at the front door? Or a sleeping laid back pup? I like to sleep but will join the other dogs here when they bark when someone arrives at my foster home
Do you like long walks? Yes, and I prefer walking where I want to go
How important is your sleep? I enjoy sleeping but I am always ready to get up and go outside
Who is your favorite puppy friend? I like the other five dogs here but I don’t have a favorite. I get along with everyone!


Do you like to travel? I like being at home the most.
Where did you travel from? Illinois. I was a stray and ended up in a shelter, and was on the euthanasia list when my foster mom saw me and told the Blind Dog Rescue she would like to foster me.
Any interesting travel stories? no
What do you think of strangers? I like people!
Favorite toys? My dog toy named “Flea”


What’s your favorite game to play? I like it when my foster dad plays tug-of-war with Flea and me
Opinion on belly rubs? I like my back rubbed better, but sometimes will want a belly rub
Do you marinate your brains to make them smarter? (sleeping upside down with head off bed or furniture) I am too much of a lady for that!
