Foster Fridays: Ruthie

Today's foster is Ruthie! She's a retired greyhound who is looking for that furever couch! Plus she's a fawn, so she's instantly perfect! Who's going to bring her home?



Foster Dog’s Name? Ruthie (fka as TJ's Ruthless)
Breed? Greyhound
Gender? Female
Altered? Yep, no babies for this woman!
Age? 3 years
Potty trained? Most of the time.. I'm on a strict schedule though.
Crate trained? Most definitely!
Cat safe? Probably not.
Dog friendly? Oh yes! But VERY little doggies would probably be delicious treats.



Kid friendly? I seem to be. FoMa says I'm not allowed to jump on them though.
Fence jumper? Nope. There's too many interesting smells on the ground!
Happy as an only dog? Potentially, but it could take some initial work.
Any meds? (other than HW & Frontline): Probiotics cause FoMa says I'm a bit gassy.
Any other quirks? You won't get far from my sight, don't worry about missing me while you're in the bathroom either!

Favorite treat? My FoBro, Phil, is teaching me that peanut butter is better than anything ever.
Favorite pup food? FoMa is currently feeding us Natural Balance Alpha fishy formula, so that?



Favorite human food? Either bread or peanut butter. Although that chicken that FoMa gave us was something we could have again.
Do you like to chew? Only on things that make noises and anything you will let me get to (paper), but I'm easily corrected.
Favorite chewy? The grunting hedgehog!!!!
Do you like pedicures? FoMa hasn't tried this yet, but she says we'll find out.
How do you feel about the couch? I'm not allowed up there, but I'm hoping my Furever Family will be less strict than my FoMa.
Do you prefer snuggling or your own giant bed? FoMa thinks I'm a snuggler, but FoBro doesn't allow that kind of thing in his house, but I can show a big bed who owns it!



Favorite naughty thing to do? Go in the kitchen while FoMa is making dinners.
How fast do you zoomie? Zoomie? Maybe, but I think FoMa's house/yard might be too small. I do like to job on the leash, but I get tired pretty fast, but I LOVE it!
What’s your opinion on squirrels? Squirrel! NOMNOMNOM!
Opinion on birds? Do they really taste like chicken? I've never tried one... yet.
Are you a guard dog at the front door? Or a sleeping laid back pup? I'm usually sleeping, but if I'm not in my crate and someone comes in the door, I'm right there to greet them!
Do you like long walks? YES! They make me sooo tired that I sleep all day after a long walk. I've even went on a trail with my FoFamily.
How important is your sleep? VERY. I sleeps all the time!!
Who is your favorite puppy friend? I've only met a few other doggies, but I'd have to say Olive cause she's more likely to play wif me than FoBro.
Do you like to travel? Ehhh.. after I get settled, its not so bad, but sometimes I will bark when I see interesting things out the windows..
Where did you travel from? I came all the way from Birmingham, Alabama!



Any interesting travel stories? My main transport to MD says that I wasn't quiet, but FoMa and my other ride say differently.
What do you think of strangers? MMMMMM, all the interesting smells and pettins.
Favorite toys? The grunting hedgehog.. or the mother bunny.. or the Kong Wubba.. or anything else that squeaks
What’s your favorite game to play? Naptime.
Opinion on belly rubs? They are definitely for me.
Do you yell at your humans for anything? When the alarm goes off in the morning, I remind them that the snooze button doesn't work anymore and at dinner time, I'm quick to let you know that I'm hungry, even if its not quite dinner time yet.
Do you marinate your brains to make them smarter? (sleeping upside down
with head off bed or furniture) I have learned this skill from my FoBro... But I also use walls as headrests when I'm sleepin', so this counteracts all that marinating.
