She's such a GOOD DOG! A perfect first dog (non family dog) for someone! If one of the dogs has to go out at night they get off their sleeping spot, shake and usually give a polite little whine. I'm tuned into that whine and it can wake me out of the deepest sleep in the blink of an eye.
Around 2am this morning I heard Rainy get up and run out of the bedroom, then a distant emergency whine from another room. I listened for a bit... and heard quiet sobbing? So I shove BF awake and tell him BFK (Bf's kid) is crying. His first response is "It's the dog whining" LOL "No listen again!" so he gets up out of bed and goes into BFK's room. Rainy immediately comes out and lays in the hallway outside of the bedroom door. I tell Miss Rainy what a good pup she is, everything is ok, and come one back to bed. She won't budge! So I go back to sleep and Rainy refused to come back to bed until BF came back to bed and BFK was back asleep. It turned out to just be a bad dream for BFK.
No one taught her to do this. To the best of my knowledge she never has been around little kids... She just knows what to do. How can your heart not melt and hurt at that?
At first Rainy refused to take treats from BFK. She was too worried about her teeth accidentally touching his hand. When Rainy first came home if her teeth ever brushed our hands when she was playing with a toy or grabbing a treat she would freeze, then run to a dog bed and refuse to look at us! BF has gotten her to the point where she was almost really playing tug with a toy and will snap at a stuffy in his hands. She has accidentally touched his hand with her teeth at times and that always ends playtime. She's so polite!
Rainy doesn't get a lot of face time in stories because she's so well behaved, but sometimes she just does stuff that leaves me gobsmacked. I think she may get a large beef neck to chew on today.
