Foster Friday: Rusty

Today's superstar is Rusty!!! He actually spend a couple days at our house last year. I can attest that he acts pretty darn normal for a sight impaired pup! Rusty has been in foster care for a looooong time. He came from a very high kill shelter in NY. When BDRA picked him up the two dogs on either side of him were fighting through the fence and poor Rusty was terrified.  Please help us find him the most perfect home! He's in NJ right now, but he can travel anywhere to his perfect home! He deserves his very own family.

Breed? Mixed up Beagle
Gender? All male and proud of it
Altered? Yep
Age? 8 years old.. A mere child
Potty trained? American Standard, but prefers grass
Crate trained? Yeah… well no… well yeah… I love being by my people
Cat safe? Yep, they are too much trouble to chase
Dog friendly? Yep, love sticking my nose in their ears
Kid friendly? Love them
Fence jumper? Um… have you seen how short I am?
Happy as an only dog? Don't mind company but really don't mind being spoiled as the 'only child'
Any meds? (other than HW & Frontline) Atopica and eye drops (both eyes, twice a day)
Any other quirks? Apparently I run like a cinderblock on toothpicks, love a stuffy or chew toy, will bay for food
Level of sight? Limited to none in 1 eye, can see in other, dry eye in both

Favorite treat? Absolutely, positively ANYTHING!! I'm a Beagle remember?!?!
Favorite pup food? See above ;-)
Favorite human food? Oh… Is that with me sticking my head in the refrigerator? I've never said no
Do you like to chew? Only some toys
Favorite chewy? Nyla-bones
Do you like pedicures? I prefer dogie-cures instead
How do you feel about the couch? Don't like the color but love the comfort
Do you prefer snuggling or your own giant bed? Snuggling paws down!
Favorite naughty thing to do? Hehehe… I'm a beagle and don't share my secrets .
How fast do you zoomie? Cinderblock on toothpicks, zoomies are like an aerodynamic brick
What’s your opinion on squirrels? I might catch one if I'm up to it
Opinion on birds? Do they really taste like chicken? They are pretty but I prefer the human cooking =)



Are you a guard dog at the front door? Or a sleeping laid back pup? I love giving visitors fanfare when they come in.
Do you like long walks? Love them provided I'm carried on the way back.
How important is your sleep? VERY!!
Who is your favorite puppy friend? Anyone I love them all
Do you like to travel? Yes, I sleep, get treats, sleep.. What's not to love
Where did you travel from? New York, Fla, and Pa… world traveled to boot.
Any interesting travel stories? I saw a UFO, and bigfoot. I'm sure the UFO was real.
What do you think of strangers? They are 'strange'
Favorite toys? Nyla-bones, other doggies
What’s your favorite game to play? Find the food, hidden treat, snack, munch =)
Opinion on belly rubs? There should be a law everyone who meets a dog MUST give 30 minute belly rubs
Do you yell at your humans for anything? If they are late with dinner or breakfast… throws off my day
Do you marinate your brains to make them smarter? (sleeping upside down with head off bed or furniture) I tried that once; fell off the couch… silly couch moved.
