Backyard fixing!
We had very diligent supervisors
Is that a bird?
Or a cloud?
So warm in the sun
First we dug a hole in the yard, put a drain in and sunk a sump pump to fix the standing water issue
Next we started leveling things off for our pallet "patio"
Lots of digging in the icky clay soil
Everyone got in on the action! The 3/4 plywood was screwed down to the pallets
Sunshine was sure this stage was built just for her. She likes the way it sounds as she tap dances on it.
Started my container gardening off to the side
Time to start planting grass seed
Seriously guys? You think this will keep me out of there?
I now hollar at her at least once a day to get off the grass seed.
Rainy behaves herself!
Then we nailed down some decking boards. The plain plywood bothered me more than I thought it would.
It's not looking to badly! We still need to get rid of all the spare wood out back. It's going out to the campground for us to burn.
The grass seed is actually growing!
We need to get an umbrella or something for shade
My tomatoes and cucumber babies. Planted right in the soil bags!
I used some of the grocery store bags for the cucumbers. Here I have giant sunflowers, carrots, and different herbs planted. Hopefully some will actually give us veggies this year. A green thumb I do not have...
BF blocked this off this past Monday. It still needs more sand to help set it in place.
We still need to get more sand to set the blocking under the grill.
The drain that goes across the yard. It does a really good job of keeping everything pretty dry.
The water shoots up this pipe and out of the yard at the top of the hill
The obligatory picture of the outdoor freezer. Yes I am THAT crazy raw feeder...
I think things are shaping up very nicely outside!
