Sunshine has a fear of dogs barking at her. A very bizarre fear... Even little yippy snacks make her shake in fear when they are mean and bark at her from far away. We have a large dog as a next door neighbor. There is a privacy fence but they always seem to know when the other ones are out. That large dog is a barker! The girls reciprocated once and BF hollered at them. No fence fighting allowed around here. I don't care how rude others are. Both girls will have manners.
Ever since then Rainy 100% ignores the barking neighbor and Sunshine gets scared. Luckily the dog's parent's rock and they rarely let him bark at us for more than 60-90 seconds before calling him back inside. They use a squeaky toy for recall, which is adorable!
Unfortunately Sunshine only needs .000003 seconds of a dog barking at her and she looses her mind. They have been eating their meals outside and usually if the dog barks Sunshine will not eat! I tried putting a lawn chair and I sitting against the neighbor's side of the fence while Sunshine eats in the opposite side of the yard. That way I'm in between the scary dog and her.
It worked! Her tail was almost against her belly but she ate her chicken quarter. I'm so proud of my big brave bear.
