RIP Little Helicopter

I was making breakfast when I heard the helicopter turn on. Came into the living room and saw Sunshine with her tail plastered to her belly and shaking as she stepped backwards away from it. So I gave her a hug and told her "Everything is fine, it's a toy!"

I figure she will be heading upstairs to safety in seconds and go back to making my baby pancakes. Then I hear a huge ruckus! Sunshine sure found her inner big brave bear when it comes to the flying things! Rainy just wants to eat it.

The poor helicopter did not survive... Poor BFK's Xmas gift! We need to find somewhere cheap online to buy these, this was way too much fun!

I promise to sleep tonight

Rainy says "I always sleep, but I'll take one too! "

Sunshine lost another privilege!

That dog is so lucky the crates are in the attic! I was very close to going up there at 4am, carrying down the crate, setting it up, and shoving her in it!

At 1am Rainy got up and started wandering around. I got up and told her to lay back down and sleep. She gets back up around 2am and starts whining. So I toss on a bathrobe and we go outside to pee. Sunshine of course bounces along and decides it's zoomie time outside. So I finally whisper in a scary enough voice that she decides to listen and we go inside/back to bed.

15 minutes later she jumps off her bedroom couch and runs down stairs. 30 second later, "woof... woof... woof..... woof"  So I get back out of bed go back downstairs and see that there is nothing to bark at out back. Wrangle her back upstairs and we all lay back down. As soon as I'm starting to drift off I hear "woof... woof... woof..... woof" from downstairs again.

I go back down and now she's growling at the sliding glass door in between the barking.  I let her outside and she wanders off to pee again. I think she just squeezed some out so her chances of being murdered were less.  She's wandering around the yard sniffing calm as can be. Not concerned about any possible threat that would induce barking.  I call her back inside and we go back upstairs to lay down.

10 minutes later "woof... woof... woof..... woof" This time I hollar at her from the top of the stairs and she comes back up. I shut the bedroom door completely not caring if I'm locking the kitties in or out. I figure they can hold any litter box needs for the next 3 hours!

I get about an hour of blissful Zzzzs before I wake up again to  "woof... woof... woof..... woof" I SEE RED! I think the cats wiggled the door open. Smart asses that they are.

Storm downstairs. She is barking cheerfully at the sliding glass door, just like she does on Sunday mornings when she decides to bark at the cars that drive by the back of the fence. Which is cute and fine at 10am on a weekend!

I grab her collar on one hand drag her to the stairs, grab a baby gate in the other hand and drag both the dog and gate upstairs. Turn on the lights, fiddle around with the baby gate for 10 minutes to get it to fit in the bedroom doorway, while Sunshine innocently snoozes on her couch.

The gate is up but I am on the wrong side.  So I walk through the bathroom to get back to the bedroom (shutting the bathroom door securely) Wake BF up to tell him the baby gate is in the doorway so he doesn't fall on his face in the dark. He of course slept through this entire ongoing drama!

Finally I get to go back to bed. Only now I'm too mad to sleep. I eventually doze off and start playing the snooze game when my alarm starts going off. During the snooze game Sunshine gets on the bed and cuddles up to spoon with me. Manipulative little shit!

It's so hard to get a good night's rest around here

I'll just sleep while Mom's at work!

Depending on how mad I still am tonight she will either be babygated in the bedroom or crated! She's lucky I'm not duct taping her and locking her in a closet...

We are wild beasties

Rainy here!

My belly has allergy issues so we get to eat real yummy food! When I first came to my forever home my belly hurt off and on all the time. I was a bit itchy and never really was too excited for dinner time. Sometimes the dinner would make my belly hurt, but I was hungry so I would eat some and always leave left overs.

It took 6 months for my new Mom to get a clue and realize that my belly hurt! By that time I had itchy scabby patches and was just miserable!

My first raw meal and I LOVED IT. It was yummy and I had good poops the very next day.  It took a little while for my itchiness to go away. I am sooooo excited about food now! I've turned into quiet the food hound. I always clean my bowl even if we are traveling.

The #1 rule is that I cannot have any cooked chicken. Mom thinks there might be some chemical in all kibbles that help preservative it that doesn't agree with me either...

All I know is that I love being a wild puppy that gets to gnaw on fun food. Not many dogs get to have this much fun while they eat. I think we are very lucky since we have two huge freezers that are always filled with food just for us.

Here I am getting ready to rip apart a frozen chicken leg.

Sunshine doesn't like to lay down on the cold ground to eat her treats.

I can really get into that chewing!

Nom nom nom nom

I even have a second piece here!

Sunshine is always trying to steal my food... Mom yells at her a lot

Rough day for the felines

First they both got brushed.

Then they had one of those waterless bath things.

Next Frizzle got loose and I got her just in time by grabbing her fur on her back and lifting her back up by her skin. Oh she was screaming and mad!

The final straw is... I took their free feeding away! I'm not sure I should sleep tonight. I wish I could feed the kitties a raw diet but they want no parts of it. I've cried uncle with Murdoc eating too quickly and puking all over the place. Plus he needs to loose about 7lbs! How he is overweight with all that puking I will never understand. I always try to free feed since it decreases Murdoc's anxiety at feeding time and during the Spring/Summer/Fall we travel often. It's much easier to just leave the cats with a few giant mixing bowls of food. I guess when we travel again I will just leave them with a large amount of kibble and they will have to temporarily adjust. Not sure I can even use timed feeders since I can see Murdoc finishing his and then stealing Frizzle's food.

New kitty feeding protocol will be a 1/8 handful of blue buffalo Duck and Sweet potato first thing in the morning when I dose the dogs with meds. 1/8 handful when I leave for work about an hour later. 1/2 small can of Wellness cat food (I bought a mixture all with no chicken in it) around 6ish when the dogs get supper. 1/8 handful of kibble right before bedtime around 9pm. Plus they will have kefir milk as an option all day and of course the water buckets.

I almost wonder if Murdoc has a chicken sensitivity, but it still doesn't explain his unchewed kibble coming right back up! Poor Frizzle will just have to suffer along with the new diet protocol.

Now for Frizzle's door darting... It seems to only happen out back since that's when the humans are lax about looking for critters. They dogs are allowed through the back door so the paranoia is a bit less, which allowed Frizzle to take advantage of the exact moment of weakness and dart for freedom. It's just not safe outside! not only might the dogs eat her, but there is a large population of feral kitties and constantly dead cats in the road. Not to mention all the horrid things people do to outdoor stay kitties!

Tomorrow I am going to add a couple 5ft tall Xpens outside so we will have a double gate system. It will be a huge PITA, but I guess it's better than a dead Frizzle... Damn cat will be the death of me!

Why can't I have easy animals? Every single one has issues! Including Rainy, now that she hates the fireplace.
